To celebrate, temporary discounts on premium, ad-free shrines are in effect. A year, long ad-free shrine is only $15. Go find a shrine and make a gift to it, or better create your own and remove the ads for a whole year while these discounts are in place.

This also opens a new era for nshrine. I have great plans for the rest of the year and hope to offer many new features. Stay tunes.

I’ve increased the limit of shrines a member could have from 5 to 500. I wanted to remove the limit altogether and will at some point, but this was the quickest way to respond to a suggestion. If you’d like to have more than 500 shrines for some reason, we’d love to hear it. (Seriously, it would be great to know why.)

This improvement was done in response to an nshrine user’s suggestion from nshrine’s new “feedback” application, provided by getsatisfaction.com. Go now to nshrine and click on the feedback tab to provide your own suggestion.

We have new ways of lighting candles on nshrine through twitter.

You can still light a candle in the twitter shrine just by sending a twitter to the nshrine account. Try sending “@nshrine happy day!” in twitter now to see it work. That all you need to do. You’ll get a link back to the candle you’ve lit.

New/changed options:

To pick a color other than yellow, add a ‘#’ followed by the mood or, now, color name. See http://nshrine.com/help/twittercandles.htmlfor list.

To pick a shrine other than the twitter shrine, add a ‘:’ followed by the shrine name. (Note: this used to be ‘@’. This will no longer work.)

To light a candle for another twitter user, add a ‘@’ some place after the ‘@nshrine’ at the beginning. This will link to the user AND send them a tweet about the candle.

See http://nshrine.com/help/twittercandles.html for more information and examples.

This was a featured inspired by an nshrine user’s request. Others are on the way. If you have something you’d like added to nshrine, let me know.

The facebook application design process has helped shaped the goals for the next version of nshrine. Your feedback can help even further.

While the facebook shrines and accounts aren’t accessible to nshrine shrines and accounts, their data are all in the same place. If the facebook application grows significantly, we will have the two operating together and any shrines and accounts you create in either will be accessible to both. Stay tuned.
